The Borealis collection magnetic pigments contain iron powder that can be manipulated with strong magnets to create fabulous colour shifting patterns. We recommend a strong neodymium magnet to create the best effects.

You can use the pigments with epoxy resin or UV resin/suspensions or nail gel. The best way to use them is with UV resin as this allows you the most control over the patterns.

2g sealed pots.

How to use:

The powders need to be mixed into your chosen medium first rather than being directly applied to the mould.

You can paint the already mixed pigments on top of a cured resin piece, but do not cure the pigments until you've achieved your desired pattern with the magnets.

Move the magnet/s over the resin to create your desired patterns.

You can achieve different patterns depending on how close you hold the magnet to the pigment, how long you hold the magnet there for etc so the world is your oyster, have some fun and experiment!

Bear in mind that if using epoxy resin the magnets will need to be in place until the resin cures or you may loose the pattern.

If using UV resin you can cure the piece under UV light immediately, hence it is recommended to use UV (which could be painted on top of a cured epoxy resin item for example!).
